Tawhid - The Oneness of Allah

التوحيد

The most fundamental concept in Islam - the absolute oneness of Allah in His lordship, worship, and names/attributes.

Tawhid ar-Rububiyyah

Allah alone is the Creator, Sustainer, and Controller of all that exists. He gives life and death, provides sustenance, and manages all affairs.

Al-Fatihah 1:2

"All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds."

Tawhid al-Uluhiyyah

Allah alone deserves worship. All acts of worship - prayer, supplication, sacrifice, vows - must be directed to Allah alone.

"Say: Indeed, my prayer, my sacrifice, my living and my dying are for Allah, Lord of the worlds. No partner has He."

Tawhid al-Asma wa's-Sifat

Allah has beautiful names and perfect attributes. We affirm them as He described Himself without distortion, denial, or comparison to creation.

Ash-Shura 42:11

"There is nothing like unto Him, and He is the Hearing, the Seeing."

Surah Al-Ikhlas (112:1-4)
