Tawhid - The Oneness of Allah
التوحيد
The most fundamental concept in Islam - the absolute oneness of Allah in His lordship, worship, and names/attributes.
Tawhid ar-Rububiyyah
Allah alone is the Creator, Sustainer, and Controller of all that exists. He gives life and death, provides sustenance, and manages all affairs.
Al-Fatihah 1:2
"All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds."
Tawhid al-Uluhiyyah
Allah alone deserves worship. All acts of worship - prayer, supplication, sacrifice, vows - must be directed to Allah alone.
Al-An'am 6:162-163
"Say: Indeed, my prayer, my sacrifice, my living and my dying are for Allah, Lord of the worlds. No partner has He."
Tawhid al-Asma wa's-Sifat
Allah has beautiful names and perfect attributes. We affirm them as He described Himself without distortion, denial, or comparison to creation.
Ash-Shura 42:11
"There is nothing like unto Him, and He is the Hearing, the Seeing."
Surah Al-Ikhlas (112:1-4)
"Say: He is Allah, the One. Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born. Nor is there to Him any equivalent."
The Unseen World
عالم الغيب
Belief in the unseen realities that Allah has informed us about, including angels, jinn, Paradise, Hellfire, and more.
Shirk - The Greatest Sin
الشرك
Associating partners with Allah is the only sin Allah will not forgive if one dies upon it.
