Meaning & Explanation
Ash-Shahid is the One who witnesses all things - the apparent and hidden, the public and private. Nothing occurs without His witnessing it. On the Day of Judgment, He will testify for and against His creation based on what He witnessed.

Exemplifying Story
quranThe Limbs Bear Witness
Reference: Surah Ya-Sin 36:65
On the Day of Judgment, some will deny their sins and Allah will seal their mouths. Then Ash-Shahid will make their own limbs testify. Allah says: "That Day, We will seal over their mouths, and their hands will speak to Us, and their feet will testify about what they used to earn." Even the earth will testify: "On that Day, it will report its news, because your Lord has inspired it." Ash-Shahid will bring forth witnesses from the criminals themselves - their skin, their limbs, and the ground they walked upon.
Ash-Shahid has created witnesses everywhere. Our own bodies will testify, the earth will speak, and nothing will remain hidden on that Day.
