The Talbiyah

لَبَّيْكَ اللَّهُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ، لَبَّيْكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ لَبَّيْكَ، إِنَّ الْحَمْدَ وَالنِّعْمَةَ لَكَ وَالْمُلْكَ، لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ

Labbayk Allahumma labbayk, labbayk la sharika laka labbayk, innal hamda wan-ni'mata laka wal-mulk, la sharika lak

Here I am, O Allah, here I am. Here I am, You have no partner, here I am. Verily all praise and blessings are Yours, and all sovereignty. You have no partner.

Ihram

الإحرام

Enter the state of Ihram at the Miqat. Make intention, wear Ihram garments (white sheets for men), and recite Talbiyah.

Hadith

Bukhari 1524, Muslim 1181

Narrated by Ibn Umar

"The Prophet ﷺ entered Ihram for Umrah from the mosque at Dhul-Hulayfah."

Tawaf

الطواف

Circumambulate the Ka'bah 7 times counter-clockwise, starting from the Black Stone. Men do Raml (brisk walk) in first 3 rounds.

Narrated by Jabir

"The Prophet ﷺ performed Tawaf around the House seven times, walking briskly (Raml) in the first three rounds."

Sa'i

السعي

Walk between Safa and Marwah 7 times, commemorating Hajar's search for water for baby Ismail.

Quran

Al-Baqarah 2:158

"Indeed, Safa and Marwah are among the symbols of Allah. So whoever makes Hajj or Umrah, there is no blame upon him for walking between them."

Halq/Taqsir

الحلق/التقصير

Shave head (men) or cut a small amount of hair (women). This completes Umrah and exits Ihram.

Narrated by Ibn Umar

"The Prophet ﷺ shaved his head and ordered his companions to shave or trim their hair."
