The Story
Al-Yasa (peace be upon him), known as Elisha in biblical traditions, was a prophet who succeeded Ilyas. He continued the mission of calling Bani Israel back to the worship of Allah alone.
While the Quran provides limited details about his specific story, he is mentioned with great honor. In Surah Al-An'am, he is listed among the prophets who were guided and favored by Allah. In Surah Sad, he is described as among "the chosen" and "the best."
This shows that even prophets whose detailed stories are not preserved in the Quran were honored servants of Allah who fulfilled their missions faithfully.
Islamic tradition holds that he continued the work of Ilyas in combating idol worship and calling people to monotheism.
