Healing spring

The Story

Ayyub (peace be upon him) was a wealthy prophet blessed with health, family, and prosperity. Allah tested him by taking away everything he had.

He lost his wealth, his children died, and he was afflicted with a severe illness that lasted for years. His body was covered with sores, and people abandoned him. Only his devoted wife remained to care for him.

Despite his suffering, Ayyub never complained. When the pain became unbearable, he simply called out to Allah, "Adversity has touched me, and You are the Most Merciful of the merciful." This wasn't a complaint but a humble supplication.

Allah answered his prayer and told him to strike the ground with his foot. A spring gushed forth, and when he bathed in it, he was completely healed. Allah restored his health, gave him back his family twofold, and returned his wealth.

Ayyub's story is the ultimate example of patience (sabr) in the face of affliction.
