Miracle
None specific, shared mission with Musa
The Story
Harun (peace be upon him) was the older brother of Musa and served as his helper and spokesperson. When Musa was given his mission, he asked Allah to appoint Harun as his assistant because Harun was more eloquent in speech.
Allah granted this request, and Harun became both a prophet and Musa's partner in the mission to Pharaoh. The two brothers worked together to lead Bani Israel out of Egypt.
During the 40 days when Musa went to Mount Sinai to receive the Torah, Harun was left in charge of Bani Israel. During this time, a man named Samiri led the people to worship a golden calf.
Harun tried to stop them but was overwhelmed. When Musa returned and saw what happened, he was angry, but Harun explained that he feared division among the people. Musa's anger subsided, and he prayed for forgiveness for both of them.
Harun passed away before Musa during the wandering in the wilderness. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said that he once saw Harun in Paradise during the Night Journey.
