Survived the destructive wind

The Story

Hud (peace be upon him) was sent to the people of 'Ad, who lived in the Ahqaf region of southern Arabia. They were a powerful nation, known for their impressive buildings and physical strength.

The people of 'Ad had become arrogant due to their power and prosperity. They worshipped idols and oppressed the weak. Hud called them to worship Allah alone and warned them of severe punishment if they continued in their ways.

They rejected his message and challenged him to bring the punishment he warned them about. They said, "Who is mightier than us in strength?"

Allah sent upon them a violent, cold wind that lasted for seven nights and eight days. The wind destroyed everything in its path, leaving the 'Ad completely annihilated. Only Hud and the believers were saved.

An entire surah in the Quran is named after Hud, highlighting the importance of his story.
