Idris (peace be upon him) is described in the Quran as a man of truth and a prophet who was raised to a high station by Allah. He is believed to be among the early descendants of Adam.
Idris was known for his extensive knowledge and wisdom. He is credited with being the first to write with a pen and the first to sew clothes. He taught his people various sciences and crafts.
He was extremely devoted to worship and would fast during the day and spend his nights in prayer. Allah honored him by raising him to a high place, as mentioned in Surah Maryam.
