Al-Latif is the One who is subtle in His workings and kind in His dealings. He is gentle with His servants and brings about His plans through invisible means. He is aware of the finest details and treats His creation with utmost gentleness.

أَلَا يَعْلَمُ مَنْ خَلَقَ وَهُوَ اللَّطِيفُ الْخَبِيرُ
“Does He who created not know? And He is the Subtle, the Aware”

When Yusuf's brothers threw him in the well, it seemed like tragedy. But Al-Latif was weaving a plan: the well led to Egypt, slavery led to working in a noble house, false accusation led to prison, prison led to meeting the cupbearer, the cupbearer led to interpreting the king's dream, the dream led to becoming minister, and becoming minister positioned him to save his family from famine. Every "disaster" was actually a step in Al-Latif's gentle plan. Yusuf himself said at the end: "Indeed, my Lord is Subtle in what He wills."
Al-Latif works in ways we cannot see. What appears as calamity may be the first step of a beautiful plan. Trust His subtle wisdom.
