Exemplifying Story
hadithThe Sustenance of the Birds
Reference: Sunan at-Tirmidhi
The Prophet ﷺ said: "If you were to rely upon Allah with true reliance, He would provide for you as He provides for the birds. They go out in the morning with empty stomachs and return in the evening full." The birds do not have stores or savings, yet Al-Muqit feeds every one of them daily. They wake up hungry, go out seeking provision, and Al-Muqit ensures they find it. This is not to promote laziness - the birds still go out and strive - but to show that the One who truly sustains is Al-Muqit.
Al-Muqit has guaranteed the sustenance of all creation. Work and strive, but let your trust be in Him, not your efforts. He will not let you go hungry.
