Reference: Surah Al-Isra 17:67
Allah describes human nature: "And when adversity touches you at sea, lost are all those you invoke except for Him. But when He delivers you to the land, you turn away. And ever is man ungrateful." Even the staunchest disbeliever, when facing death at sea with no human help possible, instinctively turns to As-Samad. In that moment, they forget all false deities and cry out to the One True Refuge. This innate recognition of As-Samad is built into every soul - in true crisis, everyone turns to Him.
As-Samad is the ultimate refuge whom even deniers turn to in crisis. Why wait for desperation? Turn to Him in ease so you have a relationship in hardship.
